The participants of the ongoing In-service Training programme of the National Library of Maldives (NLM) visited the University Central Library (UCL), on 23 April 2011, as part of their training exposure.
The students were given a tour of the UCL – including the physical collection held in the stacks and also how to use the Open Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to browse for items held in all branches of the Maldives National University’s Libraries.
The students were briefed about the library procedures regarding accessioning, cataloguing, processing and arrangement of books. They were also briefly shown the book mending and repair section of the UCL.
The comments received from the students were very positive and they were very impressed with the work of the mending section of UCL. Way to go MNU Library Team
