MCHE Library’s application to become a recipient of a book donation from the
“Read Japan” program in 2010 was favourably received and this library has been donated with 100 books from the Japan Nippon Foundation.
These books are received from the Nippon Foundation’s “100 Books for Understanding Contemporary Japan” catalogue. The books cover five categories, Politics & International Relations, Economy & Business, Society & Culture, Literature & Arts, and History.
The Nippon Foundation hopes that the books can help deepen the understanding of Japan among the people of the Maldives and that this understanding can further strengthen and reinforce the ties between the two countries.
The 100 books strengthens our library collection specially in the areas of Politics, Literature & Arts, as well as Society and Culture.
The books were received by the MCHE Library in December 2010 and it is in the process of being added to the MCHE Library’s collection.
